Cascade Project
To provide business support for existing and new start businesses,
through writing business plans, marketing plans, ICT plans, training

Cornwall 2001 and Beyond
Business Start Up for unemployed young people in Cornwall
and The Isles of Scilly. Funding is available for testing the market
viability. Low interest business loans and some grant availability. Clients must
be aged 18 to 30 and unable to raise all the funds needed. The project
aims to assist 750 young people into business and support them with
a mentor for two years.

Cornwall Film AVIS-D Project
Investment for film, TV and new media companies. Current schemes
include
Digital Markets, supporting the production of digital media marketing
tools; and
The Innovation Fund, supporting the innovative development and distribution
of content. Previous schemes have covered production, project and
product
development and company development (specialist mentoring, access
to markets, business development loans) in Cornwall and the Isles
of Scilly. In addition, PILOTS and the Researchers Scheme support
developments in factual programming; and Uprising and Digital Shorts
develop low budget drama talent. Some requirements on Cornish residency
and use of part-Cornish crew and facilities apply. Cornwall Film
also supports networking, information sharing and business growth
via industry-led cluster Cornwall Media Focus.

Empower
To assist in the development and advancement of the female workforce
in Cornwall by providing free higher level skills training or entrepreneurship
training, training for self-employment, careers advice and guidance,

Finance Cornwall invests in Cornish businesses offering loans and
venture capital investment from £20,000 - £1m, for working
capital, growth, purchase of a business or business premises and
many other diverse projects. We normally form part of an overall
finance package and provides ongoing subsidized input from a business
mentor or non executive director specially selected for your particular

Honey2cornwall
Project operated by Newquay for Excellence Training in partnership
with Restormel Borough Council. Project is available to all hotels,
guest houses and B&Bs with a minimum of 4 letting rooms. The
successful HONEY project has been extended to cover the whole of
Cornwall for honey2cornwall. The project provides access to business
advice, practical support and grants of up to £30,000 to improve
the fabric of hotels in Cornwall.

North Cornwall Business Adviser

Organic South West
We support the sustainable development of organic food and farming
in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Technical and market support
is available to organic farmers, growers, food producers and processors
and those who want to find out more about organic production. Advice
is also available to wholesalers, retailers and caterers who want
to source and use local organic produce. Our services include an
information resource (phone helpline, technical and market information,
monthly trading bulletin) with farm visits available on a consultancy subsidised basis. We also run a series of events throughout the
year aimed at providing further technical, market and supply chain
development for the organic sector.

Rural Enterprise Gateway South West
A region-wide project for the South West helping rural and land
based businesses develop and adapt to change by providing access
to business support. Delivered through the Business Link network
the project includes a free rural Information service, providing
signposting and high-level knowledge transfer. Groups of rural businesses
will be helped to collaborate and develop with access to 100% funding
of up to £1500 per annum. They can also access up to £3000
per annum to help towards training costs at 75% funding, in order
to help them meet their training needs. Groups wishing to collaborate
formally through the project can gain advice from The English Farming
and Food Partnership. The project is part of the response to South
West Strategy for Sustainable Farming and Food.

Rural Tourism Improvement Fund
Targeted financial assistance and associated support for farm tourism
via a delegated grant scheme. Offers capital grants and advice for
projects to upgrade and add new facilities to farm/rural tourism
businesses. In addition there is a capital grant scheme for environmental
projects such as farm trails and pond construction.

Rural Tourism Marketing Grants Administered by Cartwheel
Cartwheel offers marketing grants for Rural and Farm Tourism businesses
looking at new marketing activities in order to generate new business.
These can include websites and brochures etc. Fast track scheme
for projects up to £5,000 with grant rates from 20% to 50%
