Active Community Unit (Home Office)
Promotes an inclusive society in which people are actively involved in their communities; and works towards achieving a healthy voluntary sector able to work effectively in partnership with Government. Grants are provided for new initiatives for developing and championing active communities and for umbrella bodies in the voluntary and community sector. Arts Fund

Comic Relief
Set up to help disadvantaged people by helping small, local organisations to increase awareness of the needs of disadvantaged people, give a voice to groups facing discrimination and encourage self-help and equality of opportunity. Community Fund (National Lottery)
We distribute money raised by the Lottery to support charities and voluntary groups. We also make grants to UK agencies working abroad. We give grants mainly to help meet the needs of those at greatest disadvantage in society, and also to improve the quality of life in the community. Community Investment Fund
Will support capital projects put forward by voluntary groups that enable local communities to participate more effectively in local regeneration. For information contact the South West RDA's Truro office on 01872 243750.

Competitiveness Development Fund
Helps projects promoting competitiveness that support the RDA's economic strategy. For information contact the South West RDA's Truro office on 01872 243750.

Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Community Fund
Provides grants of up to £1,000 for self-help projects and small economic projects prepared by community groups. Cornwall County Playing Fields Association

Cory Environmental Trust

Countryside Trust
Provides grants of up to £5,000 to local voluntary groups and parish councils to promote conservation, preservation and restoration of the countryside. For information contact the Countryside Agency on 01242 521381.

County Environmental Trust
Redistributes money from landfill tax for environmental projects dealing with land reclamation, remediation of pollution, research & dissemination of information on waste management, public amenities and restoration of historic buildings. Rapid Response Fund
Funding is available to partnerships engaged in the support of redundant workers. For information contact the South West RDA's Truro office on 01872 243750.

Reducing Burglary Initiative and Targeted Policing Initiative
Give grants to police forces and their local crime and disorder partners. Funds are to set up and run projects to tackle local crime problems, burglary in areas or communities suffering high levels of domestic burglary and other policing issues. Redundant Building Grants
Are available for projects in those rural areas in greatest need of additional employment opportunities. Grants are available for conversion and refurbishment of existing buildings to provide facilities for manufacturing, service businesses, office premises, tourism & leisure, and retail outlets. Restormel Borough Council

Rural Development Programme
Gives grants towards projects for environmental improvement schemes or community based projects, which have an economic benefit and will encourage private sector activity in the area concerned or redress social and economic disadvantage. Rural Initiatives Fund

For industry and employer organisations in partnership with skills and learning providers on projects (minimum value £50,000, maximum value £250,000) to pump-prime new and innovative approaches to meeting the economic skill development of the region. Small Business Service (DTI)
Helps small businesses by minimising the burden of regulation, promoting support services to enhance performance, promoting enterprise across society and achieving the highest standards of service delivery. Most of the Small Business Service budget delivered locally is available for match funding - this includes money for a range of funds. South West Innovation Fund
