Overview
The Learning and Skills Task Force has been established to:
| • |
develop a strategy for learning and skills |
| • |
encourage and facilitate projects that contribute
to the Programme's objectives |
| • |
work with other Task Forces to ensure an integrated
approach to the programme |
The Task Force is a sub group of the The Learning Partnership for
Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This Partnership was formed in
1999 to encourage collaboration among those involved in post 16
learning. Members include the schools, colleges and other agencies
delivering adult learning as well as representatives of the voluntary
sector and business community.
The Partnership works to achieve the broad aims set by Government
and in particular to develop strategies which will achieve the National
Learning Targets. Such strategies are likely to involve collaboration
between all the partners, and such collaboration will result only
from a development of mutual trust and understanding.
Further information on the Partnership, including its members and
activities, can be found on the Partnership website:
www.cornwall-learning-partnership.org
The link between the Task Force and Partnership has been established
to ensure that the Objective One Programme complements the wider
Learning and Skills agenda in Cornwall.

Project proposals should fit with the strategic priorities identified
by the Learning and Skills Task Force of delivering workforce development
and higher level skills.
Anyone wishing to submit a bid should contact the Learning and
Skills Task Force Co-ordinator or the Government Office beforehand.
An 'expressions of interest' should be submitted to
Government Office by the end of March 2006 and the applicant should
be able to follow this with a full application within 6 weeks. All
project activity must end by 31 March 2008 with PCRs submitted by
30 June 2008 at the very latest
Bids for Technical Assistance (TA) are also welcome but as the
eligible activity is restricted, prospective applicants should initially
discuss their proposals with either the Task Force Co-ordinator
or GOSW.
