EIA for the dredging of Falmouth Harbour
EIA for the dredging of Falmouth Harbour has been awarded a priority
2.4 grant. This project is for an Environmental Impact Assessment
(EIA) of dredging a deep channel in preparation for planned far
reaching improvements to the cruise terminal facilities and navigation
at Falmouth.

2
Bude Canal Regeneration Project Stage 2 has been awarded a priority
5.2 and 5.5 grant. The aim of this project is to uplift the economy
of the Bude and North Tamar area by regenerating the Bude Canal
as a major focus for sustainable tourism. The project will restore
and enhance the Bude canal network and establish circular walks
to increase the number of visitors, visitor spend and to extend
the season into shoulder months.

Geevor Tin Mine Stage 1
Cornwall County Council has been awarded a priority 5.2 grant. The
overall project aims to create a new purpose built museum of hard
rock mining at Geevor in addition to safeguarding the distinctive
buildings and landscape at Geevor and Levant tin mines. Under stage
1 the design and specification works for the conversion of a redundant
mine building, the Top Fitting Shop, to house the museum will be
undertaken.

Falmouth’s town centre. The Heritage Economic Regeneration
Scheme (HERS) is a package of heritage grants designed to bring
extra income into Falmouth by making the town more attractive to
visitors and thereby capitalising on the new National Maritime Museum
which is due to open in 2002. The project has been developed by
