Key Welsh Objective One practitioners to visit Cornwall

Twenty Objective One practitioners from Carmarthenshire will be visiting Cornwall on a fact finding mission on 9th and 10th October. The group will include the Deputy Leader of Carmarthenshire County Council, the Head of the West Wales European Centre, members of the Welsh Farmers Union and representatives from tourism, education and the Trade Union Congress.

The visit, hosted by Cornwall Enterprise, follows a similar educational visit by Cornish representatives last year. The aim is to share knowledge and experiences in project development under the Objective One process between the two regions.

The Welsh group will be visiting a range of projects which will include the Combined Universities in Cornwall and the Eden Project as well as presentations on the World Heritage Site, Destination South West, actnow and Finance Cornwall. There will also be a walkabout in Bodmin to highlight the Cornwall and
Isles of Scilly Urban Survey and meetings with the Objective One Task Force Co-ordinators and Integrated Area Plan Managers.

John Berry, Managing Director for Cornwall Enterprise said, “It is a great opportunity for everyone involved in developing projects within the Objective One process to exchange ideas and information based on their own experiences."

For further information or to join the group for a photographic opportunity during the visit, please contact Kate Selby, Cornwall Enterprise on 01872 322931.
