Spring Equinox event provides a tour of sustainable developments in Cornwall

Isn't it time you tuned into the seasons and harmonised with natural systems?

The Spring Equinox and Cornwall Sustainable Building Trust (CSBT) will be hosting the first of its series of one day Equinox Low Impact Training Events on Wednesday March 21. The day will provide businesses and individuals in Cornwall with a fully catered and guided tour of groundbreaking sustainable developments in Cornwall, the chance to learn how to reduce environmental impacts and learn from leaders in sustainability.

The day will start with a collection by luxury coach at Truro Bus Station at 9.15 and first stop will be Jubilee Wharf Penryn to see Andrew Marsden's mixed use Zed development. Participants will be able to stroll around the site and enjoy elevenses of home-made cake and tea or coffee before congregating in the functions room for a question and answer session on the development.

Next stop will be the Trelowarren Estate on the Lizard to receive a guided tour by Sir Ferrers Vyvyan of his Eco Developments including his listed building adaptations, new swimming pool and eco-lodges designed by award winning architect David Gale and the biomass boiler fuelled with thinnings from the Trelowarren estate. Individuals will divide into smaller groups for conducted tours and lunch in the Trelowarren Restaurant with a selection of local fare. After lunch there will be an explanatory talk on Trelowarren's approach to sustainable building and tourism management and a question and answer session with Sir Ferrers Vyvyan.

Following Trelowarren there will be a trip to a final surprise destination to learn more about how some people in Cornwall are developing sustainably. There will be afternoon refreshments at the final stop. Participants may also receive CPD certificates for attending the first Equinox Low Impact Training Event. The coach will then return to Truro for 5pm.

If you are interested to book a place on this ELITE Equinox Low Impact Training Event please email admin@csbt.org.uk or telephone 01726 68654.

To this end it is funded by LSC, Objective One and Defra to deliver advice and training in both traditional and sustainable building skills. Partners include Cornwall College, CUC, CPRR Co, CCC, Cornwall's District Councils, Tamar AONB, CoaST Project, CSEP the Eden Project, Rezolve, The Environment Agency, CITB and many more including numerous specialist associates.
