National Vice Chair of Federation of Small Businesses
Businesswoman Carol Wells has been voted as national vice
chair of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).
Ms Wells is a founder member of the Objective One Business
Task Force and is currently chair of this task force which
works to keep the private sector at the heart of the investment
Programme and was the first woman to be appointed Cornwall
FSB chair. She beat off six others in the annual national
elections to win her new position.
She said: "I am absolutely delighted and am looking
forward to the challenge. It is an opportunity to make sure
that Cornwall and the South West are near the top of the national
agenda."
Carleen Kelemen director of the Objective One Partnership
added: "The Partnership congratulates Carol on her
new appointment, she has played a key role in ensuring private
sector involvement for the Objective One Programme. We wish
her all the best."
Ms Wells has been either self employed or managed small companies
for more than 20 years. Since retraining in 1998 she has run
a specialist technical IT training company. As well as being
Chair for the Cornwall region of the FSB, before handing over
to Barbara Ellenbroek so she could concentrate more on the
national duties of the federation, she has been Mayor and
parish councillor in St Columb Major. She also serves as a
panel member for the Princes Trust on a regular basis.
