Fancy studying a degree locally?
Cornwall College Saltash will be welcoming all prospective
students who are interested in studying a university qualification
locally this month (April 25) when the College will be hosting
a special Higher Education Open Evening.
Those who attend the event, which runs from 5pm until 8pm
on Wednesday 25 April, will be able to get a feel for student
life when they meet staff and students, find out information
from lecturers on the range of courses available and take
an exclusive tour of the College's outstanding new Higher
Education building and specialist learning facilities.
Steve Warnes, Head of Cornwall College Saltash, explained:
"For anybody who is thinking about studying a degree
locally, but is unsure about their options, then coming in
and talking to one of our friendly experts could help to put
their minds at ease.
"The Open Evening will be a drop-in style event
and very informal, with members of staff available to answer
questions and deal with enquiries. The College welcomes students
of all ages and hopes to make choosing Higher Education as
easy and helpful as possible."
Throughout the evening visitors will also be able to obtain
financial advice on tuition fees and the benefits of studying
locally, as well as being able to explore various career options
after College.
Cornwall College Saltash specialises in degree courses, approved
by the University of Plymouth in Business, Social Care, Early
Years and IT. Many of the courses are offered on a full time
and part-time basis to fit around work and family commitments.
Steve added: "The new Higher Education facilities
are part of a wider investment programme at Cornwall College,
part of the Combined Universities in Cornwall initiative (CUC).
The CUC is part-funded by Objective One and the European
Regional Development Fund, which has brought millions of pounds
of investment to the College's seven campus sites. This has
helped to ensure that students experience the best quality
learning environment while studying with us at the College."
John Latham, Principal of Cornwall College, said: "The
range of courses we can now offer within Cornwall College
gives local people the opportunity to progress personally
and professionally. These are exciting times for university
education in Cornwall, particularly Saltash."
