Booking now open for Tremough Open Day

The University of Exeter is now taking bookings for its next Tremough Campus Open Day on 18 June 2007. For anyone interested in studying for a degree with one of the UK's top universities in stunning surroundings, this is an opportunity to find out more about the opportunities on offer with the University of Exeter at Tremough.

The University of Exeter now offers degrees in Biology, Cornish Studies, English, Geology, Geography, History, Law, Mining Engineering, Politics and Renewable Energy on its Tremough Campus. Open day visitors will have the opportunity to attend sample lectures, talk to academics about their courses and chat with students about their experiences of life at Tremough. They will also have tours of the campus, including the halls of residence, student bar and sports centre. Prospective Geology and Mining Engineering students can even go down a real mine - the only one that is part of a UK university. Anyone not familiar with the area can also take a tour of Falmouth to discover the local social opportunities and facilities.

"From Law to Biology, English to Mining Engineering, we now have a wonderful range of degree courses on offer," says Professor Keith Atkinson, Provost of the University of Exeter Cornwall Campus. "We're looking forward to welcoming prospective students from within the county and all over the UK."

Booking is essential. Contact Cornwall Campus Admissions (Carrie Baker) on 01326 371801 or email cornwall@exeter.ac.uk or visit www.exeter.ac.uk/cornwall for further information.

The £100 million Tremough Campus is a Combined Universities in Cornwall initiative of which the University of Exeter and University College Falmouth are two of the founding partners. It has received investment through the European Union (Objective One), the South West Regional Development Agency, and the Higher Education Funding Council for England, with support from Cornwall County Council. Set in 70 acres of countryside, but close to the waterside towns of Penryn and Falmouth, the campus offers a lively student community. The University of Exeter now offers degrees in Biology, Cornish Studies, English, Geology, Geography, History, Law, Mining Engineering, Politics and Renewable Energy on its Tremough Campus, which has expanded rapidly as part of the Combined Universities in Cornwall initiative.

For further information please contact Sarah Hoyle, Press Officer, University of Exeter on 01392 262062 or email s.hoyle@exeter.ac.uk.

The Objective One Programme for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has invested in the Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) project, both Phase 1 and Phase 2, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF). The University of Exeter and University College Falmouth are partners of the CUC.
