Cornish produce in Ough's spring
collection
The distinctive taste of fresh, free-range Cornish quails
eggs is set to be enjoyed by people up and down the country
this spring. The tiny speckled eggs, produced at St Teath
near Bodmin, are part of the new Spring Collection hamper
from Oughs of Liskeard, which is being made available nation-wide
by mail order.
The hamper has been put together with support from Cornwall
Taste of the West, the Objective One funded regional food
group.
The quails eggs are just one of a selection of Cornish
treats in the Spring Collection, packed in an open wicker
basket and designed to delight anyone who loves Cornwall, or simply loves quality and taste.
The Spring Collection from Oughs also includes Cornish strawberry
conserve, made by hand to a traditional farmhouse recipe;
organic clotted cream shortbread and delicately spiced Cornish
saffron cake; aromatic and fruity dry white wine, made in
the Camel valley from Cornish grapes; a box of six luxury
chocolates, handmade in Mullion using the finest Belgian chocolate,
and Clotted Cream fudge from the Lizard Peninsula, made on
the farm using milk and cream from the resident Jersey herd.
Four out of the seven food and drink producers who contributed
to the hamper have received Objective One funding through
the Cornwall Taste of the West umbrella fund. They are:
Boddington's Berries - £4,979 grant for marketing
and promotional work
Camel Valley Wine - £750 grant for marketing
work and £5,290 for equipment
Trenance Chocolates - £1,500 grant for design
and promotional work
Roskilly's - £6,225 grant for marketing and £24,689
capital investment for equipment
The Oughs Spring Collection is priced at just £30.00,
plus £8.50 for next day delivery nation-wide. It can
be ordered from Oughs by email details at www.oughs.co.uk
or phone 01579 343253.
