Ough's relaunch
Oughs is one of the very first retail businesses in
Liskeard to benefit from Objective One now available for
economic regeneration in Cornwall, having received investment
from the Cornwall Food and Drink Partnership Scheme, administered
jointly by Business Link and Cornwall Taste of the West.
Celebrating a major refurbishment of this famous food shop,
building on 150 years of history under the Oughs original
family name, a re-launch ceremony is to be performed by the
Mayor of Liskeard, Chairman of Caradon District Council and
other celebrities on Saturday, April 12th at 11.00 am. The
shopping area has been re-equipped and re-modelled, and has
become a showcase for Cornwall, with many farmhouse and local
foods.
Enhanced by new producers and new staff, notably the award-winning
Cornish chef, Roger Finnamore, our customers can now enjoy
what is probably the best selection of Cornish delicacies
available anywhere, every shopping day of the week.
OUGHS ON A PLATE
* snacks and light meals on the spot
OUGHS AT HOME * taste and
take away
OUGHS AROUND TOWN * sandwiches and office catering
OUGHS IN A HAMPER
* personal and corporate gifts
The new impetus given to the shop enables us to meet the
needs of discerning foodies in and around the
town. A recent Fashion Parade for charity in the Public Hall
in conjunction with 4 other vibrant Liskeard retail businesses,
emphasises our determination to make our full contribution
to the regeneration of this ancient Borough and Market Town
and provide a good shopping experience in south east Cornwall.

Supported by the Duchy of Cornwall, a small group of local
investors has managed the shop in recent years as early successors
to the original Ough family.
With the upsurge of interest in good quality food, the business
has now been re-structured and re-modelled to provide a marketplace
for 30 up-and-coming Cornish farmhouse food producers, in
addition to the already broad range of quality and delicatessen
foods.
