University College Falmouth's Masters celebration
University College Falmouth's annual MA degree shows are the highlight of Cornwall and Devon's arts diary and open to the public on Friday 5 September at the College's Woodlane Campus and on Thursday 25 September at the Dartington Campus.
The shows entitled, 'You Are Here' in Cornwall and 'mashow08' in Devon will be the public's first opportunity to see the College's newest and brightest stars to graduate display an exciting range of work across from the College's art, design, media and performance-based Masters degree courses.
The Woodlane Campus, in the heart of Falmouth, will host the Cornwall exhibition and will feature an unusual and diverse range of work from students completing their Masters in Fine Art: Contemporary Practice, Illustration: Authorial Practice, Photography, 20th Century Art & Design: Histories & Theories, Interior and Landscape Design, Textile Design, 3D Design, Broadcast Journalism, Creative Advertising, Professional Writing and Television Production.
There will also be an opportunity for prospective students and visitors to view the extensive range of facilities at the Tremough Campus on Friday 5 September from 10am to 4pm at the Postgraduate Fair.
An open evening on Friday 5 September from 6pm to 10pm marks the start of the celebrations held at Woodlane. Everyone is welcome and visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of musical entertainment whilst sampling fresh local produce from the BBQ, before exploring the diverse array of work on display in the open studios.
At the Dartington Campus from 25-27 September, there will be a full programme of performances, exhibitions, events and screenings, with work representing graduating students on MA Performance Writing, MA Devised Theatre, MA Choreography, MA Arts Management, and MA Arts and Ecology.
The festivities will be launched on Thursday 25 September in the evening at the Marquee Cafe, at 7pm. Earlier that afternoon MA Arts and Ecology student Timothy Vize Martin's project involving walking from London will culminate with his arrival at 4pm at Dartington. Installed work will be on show throughout the day, with live events to close the evening.

In April 2008, University College Falmouth merged with Dartington College of Arts to create a new institution focusing on the expansion of Falmouth's expertise in Art, Design and Media and Dartington's expertise in Choreography, Music, Theatre, Art and Writing.
The merger will pave the way for a new specialist Arts University in Cornwall in 2012, creating a Higher Education institution unique to the South West.
