South West RDA to discuss future
of EU Structural Funds in Brussels
Juliet Williams, chairman of the South West Regional Development
Agency will visit Brussels on Monday 12 May 2003 to meet with
Michel Barnier, European Commissioner for Regional Policy.
The meeting will discuss the future of the European Structural
Funds (Objectives One, Two and Three) after the enlargement
of the European Union.
The meeting, which will involve all RDA chairmen, was suggested
to Michel Barnier when he came to a conference in the South
West last September about the future of European cohesion.
During her visit, Juliet will also visit the South West UK
Brussels Office, which was set up to give the region a unified
voice in Brussels and is supported by a partnership of key
public sector organisations within the region.
