CORNISH CHRISTMAS AT COTEHELE Next weekend, the National Trust’s Cotehele House opens its doors to host Cornish Food and Drink producers at its annual Winter Food Fair, organised by the Objective One funded Cornwall Taste of the West. The stalls will be packed full of local specialities and Christmas goodies. Producers are coming from all over the county to sell some of the best food and drink produced in Cornwall. There will be dark, milk and white chocolate from Trenance Chocolates, based at the Lizard. Helsett Farm Cornish Ice-Cream from Boscastle to Cotehele has 30 different varieties of ice-cream. Boddington’s are coming from Mevagissey on the south coast, with their strawberry conserve. Local producers from Liskeard and Callington, include Cornish Country Meats with wild boar, venison and ostrich, Amberley with cakes, desserts and pastries. The Celtic Kitchen with herbs, home-made preserves and chutneys, which are the ideal accompaniment for Cornish Blue from the Cornish Cheese Company. The Ivy House will be selling butter fudge to tempt those with a sweet tooth. Ough’s of Liskeard will be selling produce from their hampers and taking orders for their Christmas hampers. Cream, butter, yoghurt and milk can be purchased from Trewithen Cornish Farm Dairy and a variety of smoked fish from the Cornish Smoked Fish Company. For liquid refreshment, Countryman Cider will be selling mulled cider. The Fair is on Saturday 16th November from 10am-4pm, and the National Trust gift shop and grounds will be open for the enjoyment of customers, as well as the café, which will be serving a range of the products from the exhibitors.
