FULL HOUSE FOR COMMUNITY REGENERATION FUNDING SEMINAR St Ewe Village Hall saw a full house for a seminar organised by the Restormel Integrated Area Plan (IAP) team introducing the new Objective One funded Community Futures and Rural Key Funds on Thursday 7 November. Catherine Roberts, manager of the fund team based at Cornwall Enterprise, was invited by the IAP team to speak at the event. Representatives from across Restormel who are members of the IAP Local Development Groups and Board, together with local Parish and District Councillors came to hear about the new funds and how they will work. Catherine said: "It’s wonderful to see so many people here. The quicker we can get the message out to groups that this funding is available, the sooner the funding can start working for communities.” Both funds are designed to provide easy access to European and Government funding for community groups, with a simplified application process. Christine Bainbridge, IAP team Programme Manager who set up the event, added, "Organising information events like this is an important role for us at the heart of regeneration in Restormel. Information provides the key to ensuring that communities are aware that there is money available to help them achieve their aspirations, and that there are organisations like us keen to give as much as a helping hand as they need to obtain and manage it and all for free!”
