STREETS AHEAD GIVE AWAY YEARLY PASSES TO PARADISE PARK After large numbers of volunteers of all ages helped the North Kerrier Street Wardens clean up estates earlier in the year, the wardens decided that a just reward was due. A raffle was held at the time of the clean-ups and three lucky families from the Pengegon, North Close and Higher Broad Lane areas have been picked out to receive yearly passes to Paradise Park, a popular wildlife centre in Hayle. The passes, arranged by the Streets Ahead wardens, were donated by the Park once they were informed of the good work undertaken by all the residents concerned. Each pass will admit up to 4 people, and can be used as many times as the family likes over a year. Mark Richards, Project Manager for Streets Ahead, explained: “This was an excellent example of what residents and wardens can achieve when working together. A good deal of hard work went in over three weeks to clear up the estates, focusing especially on the play and green areas. It was felt only right that a reward should be given and so, after much deliberation, the Streets Ahead team opted for Paradise Park, which is both educational and hugely enjoyable. A big thank you goes out to everyone who was involved in the clean-ups, and also to Paradise Park for their generous support.” The presentation of the passes will be at 4.30 pm on Friday 6 December at the offices of Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change, The Chambers, Penryn Street, Redruth. Streets Ahead is a project funded by Neighbourhoods for Change and is in receipt of Objective One funding through Penwith Pathways to Employment.
