Investment secured for Restormel Business Adviser
Investment has been secured from Objective One European
Regional Development Fund (ERDF), South West Regional Development Agency
and Restormel Borough Council for a three year extension to the successful
Restormel Business Adviser project.
The key aims of the Restormel Business Adviser (RBA) project
are:
|
To increase the number of start up businesses and the support available
to them |
|
Increase sustainable employment by SMEs in Restormel |
|
Improve survival rates of SMEs |
|
Increase SME turnover |
The Restormel Business Adviser has run as a successful
pilot project for the past year working with small to medium-sized businesses
and has proved the need for business advice and assistance to the many
numbers of small businesses across Restormel. The aim of the project is
to work closely with existing businesses and those who have new business
ideas, to help to ensure their sustainability and success; the project
will be managed by Mid Cornwall Enterprise Trust (MCET) from their offices
at St Austell Bay Business Park.
Alan Moore Chief Executive of MCET says: "We are delighted
that the Restormel Business Adviser project will continue. The project
has been a great success over the past year – exceeding all targets
and proving the real need for this type of assistance; we look forward
to further success over the next three years.”
Betty Hale, the RRP Development Officer who worked with
MCET to develop the bid added: "This project is vital to ensure
continuation of the support needed by SMEs in Restormel to keep them become
sustainable and achieve success.”

Restormel Regeneration Partnership
|
Restormel Regeneration Partnership was established in 2000,
with the objective of making Restormel '… a more
prosperous and lively area' by making maximum use of the
opportunities for regeneration |
|
Integrated Area Plans (IAPs) are the way in which Objective
One can help communities. These are the plans that integrate
the economic, social and environmental aspects of the Objective
One programme into a framework for use in a specific area. There
are eleven plans throughout Cornwall, three of which (St Austell
Bay, China Clay Area, and Newquay & its Rural Hinterland)
are covered by Restormel |
|
The Objective One funded Integrated Area Plan team was established
in February 2001 to deliver the three IAPs for Restormel. It
can help with developing and supporting community based projects
who wish to apply for Objective One funding |
|
The RRP team is funded by Restormel Borough Council, Objective
One, the South West of England Regional Development Agency,
Imerys, Cornwall County Council and Health Action Zone |
