Scotsar Web Design - another Rural
Key Fund success in Restormel
Scotsar Web Design has received investment of £30,000
from the Objective One Rural Key Fund and Restormel Borough
Council, with help and support from the IAP Team at Restormel
Regeneration Partnership.
Scotsar Web Design and ePublishing is a new social firm
that will design, code and promote web sites to enable them
to achieve a top ten-search result in search engines. It will
also run advanced web design courses and give in-house work
experience.
The project will create new opportunities for employment,
improve access to training especially for those who are most
disadvantaged, and develop a new social economy enterprise.
Scotsar Web Design and ePublishing intends to employ at
least 20% of its workforce from the disabled and/or disadvantaged
sector and gain at least 50% of its income from sale of goods
or services. Ultimately, sales will be generated by telesales
supported by sales representatives and IT advisers, programmers
and designers.
Graham McGrath, Acting Chief Executive said: "We are
elated that we have been awarded the investment from the Objective
One Rural Key Fund. We have been working on the project for
the past two years and with the help of Restormel Regeneration
Partnership we have been able to secure the funding to make
the project come alive.”
Christine Bainbridge, Restormel Regeneration Partnership's
Programme Manager says: "We are so happy that we have
been able to assist with this project and look forward to
working with Scotsar in the future, helping them to establish
this innovative business.”

Integrated Area Plans (IAPs) are the way in which Objective
One can help communities. These are the plans that integrate
the economic, social and environmental aspects of the Objective
One programme into a framework for use in a specific area.
There are eleven plans throughout Cornwall, three of which
(St Austell Bay, China Clay Area, and Newquay & its Rural
Hinterland) are covered by Restormel |
|
The Objective One (European Regional Development Fund)
funded Integrated Area Plan team was established in February
2001 to deliver the three IAPs for Restormel. It can help
with developing and supporting community based projects who
wish to apply for Objective One funding |
|
The RRP team is funded by Restormel Borough Council,
Objective One European Regional Development Fund, the South
West of England Regional Development Agency, Imerys, Cornwall
County Council and Health Action Zone |
