Rural Key grant to Clay area project
The latest organisation to benefit from investment from the
Objective One Rural Key Fund is Clay Transport Solutions (CTS)
with the assistance of Restormel Regeneration Partnership
(RRP) Integrated Area Plan Team (IAP).
CTS is a sustainable transport project currently based in
St Dennis. Set up to explore the issues surrounding rural
transport in the clay area, the project also runs ClayWheels,
Cornwall's first car club as well as promoting car sharing
and providing a transport information service.
CTS is coordinated by Emma Rowse who says: "I am delighted
to announce that the CTS project has been awarded investment
from the Objective One Rural Key Fund. This will enable us
to work towards providing some solutions to the problems of
transport in the clay area. I would like to extend my thanks
to those people and organisations that have made this possible,
in particular Restormel Regeneration Partnership IAP Team,
Rural Key Fund Team and the CTS steering group."
The project has already carried out surveys in the parishes
of St Stephen and St Dennis and is using this information
to work towards transport solutions that may help to fill
the gap between current provision and current needs.
Catherine Roberts, Fund Manager of the Objective One Rural
Key Fund commented: "Clay Transport Solutions has had
a busy year and the Rural Key Fund award is the culmination
of this. The project has worked hard with local communities
to find out what difficulties they experience due to transport."
