New member of staff for Tin Country Community Regeneration
The Tin Country Partnership Community Regeneration Team
at Kerrier District Council would like to welcome a new member of staff.
Cleo Bergin joined the Team on 5th January and will be providing maternity
cover for the previous Community Regeneration Officer with responsibility
for Camborne.
Some of the main projects that Cleo will be working on
will include Camborne Regeneration Phase II which seeks to address the
public realm in the town centre, aiming to increase footfall and spend
by making the town centre a more attractive place to visit and shop. Another
main project already under development is the Camborne Townscape Heritage
Initiative (THI), which is looking into restoring the historic environment
of the town.
Reg Bennett, Camborne Town Clerk, says: "Camborne Town
Council are very much looking forward to working with Cleo, as it's a
very exciting time for Camborne with all the regeneration projects that
are in the pipeline. I am sure Cleo will continue the excellent achievements
of the Regeneration Team that has been the hallmark of their work within
the Town.”
Previously Cleo worked at Cornwall College as a Project
Development adviser. This involved writing applications for grant funding
and liaising with external groups and agencies to develop relationships
and support partnership working.
Cleo says: "I am delighted to have joined the Team
and am looking forward to working alongside my new colleagues and members
of the community. I am really pleased to be given the opportunity to support
the development and regeneration of my hometown, and I hope to offer a
positive contribution to the development of new and existing projects
in Camborne.”
