Redruth gets new regeneration officer
The Tin Country Partnership Community Regeneration Team at
Kerrier District Council would like to welcome a new member
of staff. Antonia Pickup started her new post on 5th January
and will be the Community Regeneration Officer with responsibility
for Redruth.
Prior to taking up this post Antonia was providing maternity
cover with the Team as the Regeneration Officer for Camborne.
One of the main projects that Antonia will be working on
is the Heritage Economic Regeneration Scheme (HERS) which
aims to give the town's historical buildings a facelift. She
will also be working closely with the Redruth North Partnership
to ensure community facilities are included in the development
of the Avers site.
Peter Bennett, Redruth Town Clerk, says: "Redruth Town
Council are very much looking forward to working with Antonia
and are looking to continue success with the projects both
underway and in the future.”
Previously Antonia worked for Health Action Zone on behalf
of the Well Cornwall Project, working on a project for community
health information needs, which produced the Community Toolkit.
This provides information about and to the community and voluntary
sectors
Antonia says: "I am looking forward to playing a role
in the regeneration of Redruth. This is a very exciting time
to be working in the area and I hope that my work can have
a positive effect on those living and working in Redruth.”
