Unlucky for some, but not North
Cornwall
The thirteenth project supported by Regeneration North Cornwall
has received approval from Objective One, bringing the value
of European funding for IAP projects in the North Cornwall
area to £2,410,804, with the total cost of these projects
on the ground reaching £5,783,519.
The funding covers a wide variety of very diverse projects,
for example: the development of new high specification business
units to the provision of a North Cornwall Business adviser,
a feasibility study and business plan for a local produce
centre, NVQ training opportunities for 14-16 year olds, and
the development of a Marine Biology Centre for research and
education.
Further projects are under appraisal by the Government Office,
valued at £4,804,661 looking for £1,637,503 from
Objective One.
Regeneration North Cornwall has also supported a further
6 community groups to access funding via the Objective One
Rural Key and Community Futures Funds.
All the projects that Regeneration North Cornwall supports
are designed to contribute to economic sustainability within
North Cornwall whilst offering facilities and services that
will benefit the area. Regeneration North Cornwall is also working on a further 18
potential Objective One projects.
In addition, since its establishment in November 2001 Regeneration
North Cornwall has provided advice, guidance and project development
support to a further 300 community groups, businesses and
individuals.
Check McEwen, the Programme Manager for Regeneration North

One has actually benefited communities in North Cornwall.
It is heartening to see our hard work and that of the project
sponsors translate to an increase in quality jobs and increased
incomes in North Cornwall.”

If a project is not eligible for Objective
One investment the Regeneration team will do their best to
help locate other funds and find other ways of taking ideas
forward.
