Micro-business mentor appointed for South Kerrier
West Cornwall Enterprise Trust are delighted to announce
the appointment of Joe Fraser as the Business Mentor, dedicated to supporting
micro-businesses in South Kerrier.
The appointment is as a result of Objective One investment
in the project 'Targeting Support to Micro-Businesses' with
additional support from the South West of England Regional Development
Agency, Cornwall County Council and Kerrier District Council.
Joe brings 30 years of commercial experience to the role
encompassing sales, marketing, finance and ICT. Initially with multi-national
3M and latterly, since moving to Cornwall, he has run his own consulting
business and worked for innovative software house Idesta.
The 3 year project aims to improve the performance and
sustainability of the micro-business sector within South Kerrier. The
focus will be on in depth "hand-holding" for individual micro-businesses
and to make access to business support and advice simple and straightforward.
Any business having 5 or less employees is invited to take advantage of
the project, including pre-start and start-up businesses.
"The range of business support available
in Cornwall can be pretty confusing, I will be providing a one stop shop
or first port of call for all micro-businesses in the area, help to determine
their needs and if not able to help them directly, guide clients to other
appropriate support services,” explained Joe.
Many businesses are already aware of the potential realisation
of this project through local business networks, such as the Helston Lizard
Small Business Network, and Joe will work closely with these networks
and where appropriate assist in developing new business to business networks
and structures.
As an initial phase to the project, for a limited period
over the summer, West Cornwall Enterprise Trust are offering free business
reviews to any eligible business. An extensive review of all aspects of
your business, conducted by Joe and another of the Trust's experienced
advisers.
