Regeneration in Redruth
Redruth Vision and Strategy group was set up to consider,
assist, support and further the regeneration of the parish
of Redruth. At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the group
on the 20th of July the group agreed a number of changes to
the way in which they work with the aim of becoming more proactive
in driving positive change in Redruth. It is also hoped that
the new format will help to get more people interested in
work which is being undertaken and give them the opportunity
to become more involved in regeneration.
To mark the changes the group is changing its name to Redruth
Regeneration Group. An executive committee will meet monthly
with the aim of identifying priority areas and projects to
be taken forward on behalf of the people of Redruth. This
group will include representatives of Redruth Town Council,
the Police, Youth, Education, the Business sector, The Urban
Regeneration Company (CPR Regeneration), Kerrier Regeneration
Team (part of Kerrier District Council), the Community and
Voluntary Sector and the Redruth Town Forum. In addition,
a general meeting to discuss current projects and future priorities
will be held every three months which anyone interested in
finding out about regeneration or becoming involved in projects
can attend. Anyone interested in becoming involved with this
wider group can become a member and will therefore automatically
receive notice of Regeneration Group meetings and the minutes
and agenda's for executive group meetings. Anyone with an
interest in Redruth and its future is encouraged to get involved.
Membership forms can be obtained by calling Antonia Pickup,
