Fair to preview 'what's hot' for next season's wine lists and menus
The annual Cornwall Wine and Fine Food Fair is taking
place on 15-16 February at the St Mellion Golf and Country Club. It's
an invitation-only event, and each year attracts thousands of people from
the region's booming hospitality industry, as well as individual
enthusiasts.
The 2005 event will be an opportunity to sample from a
selection of more than 300 wines from all around the world, including
those tipped to be 'hot favourites' for the coming season's
wine lists by UK wine experts. The fair is being promoted by Castang Wine
Shippers with Cornwall Taste of the West, which is running the fair's
Food Hall for the third year, showcasing the best of local foods and produce.
"Just like haute couture, each season sees new
trends in food and wine fashions,” says David Hearnden of Castang
Wine Shippers. "Our annual fair is unique in the region. The
excitement is in getting a preview of what's going to be 'hot'
in terms of wine and food, which will really help restaurateurs and hoteliers
plan some exciting menus and wine lists.”
Visitors can book to attend wine master classes with wine
expert and broadcaster Stephen Barrett, plus Cornwall's only cheese
monger Stephen Gunn will again be presenting his hugely popular Cornish
cheese master classes at the event.
Tickets for the event will be sent out in January. To
