St Ives Bay Line artist's project:
artist needed
An exciting new project has been launched by Wessex Trains
along the St Erth to St Ives train line. Along with Cornwall
Arts Marketing (and funded by Arts and Business), the two
organisations would like to commission an artist to produce
a Public Art Installation at stations along the line thereby
creating 'The Artistic Gateway to St Ives'.
There are a total of 5 stations along this line, all in need
of some artistic input. This could range from mosaics and
sculpture to installations, graphics etc.
Artists working in a variety of media and methods are asked
to submit a portfolio of recent work (in any media), a CV
along with an expression of interest and should include the
artist's name, address, telephone number and other contact
details. Applications are open to artists from Cornwall only.
A shortlist will be created from these submissions and successful
applicants will be notified. A full brief will then be sent
to the successful applicants and a site visit will be arranged.
Submissions to be received by
7 January 2005. Please send to: Charlie Riley, Cornwall
Arts Marketing, Lemon House, Lemon Street, Truro, Cornwall,
TR1 2LS.
