Congratulations
Only the second woman in Devon and Cornwall to be awarded
a fellowship with the Chartered Institute of Marketing is
working with the Objective One Partnership.
It was announced this week that Deborah Smith, Head of Marketing
for Cornwall Enterprise, which promotes economic development
in Cornwall, and Cornwall Tourist Board, has been awarded
a fellowship with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Cornwall Enterprise is Cornwall County Council's arms-length
economic development company and a key partner in the delivery
of the Objective One programme. Cornwall Enterprise and Cornwall
Tourist Board run projects that have been backed by Objective
One investment. These include Destination South West, which
aims to encourage cruise ships to the region; the Cornwall
Tourism Forum and DACOM, an initiative targeting potential
visitors from across Europe, North America and the Far East.
Carleen Kelemen, Director of the Objective One Partnership
in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, said: "The Partnership
is proud to be associated with Debbie. Day by day Objective
One is helping to improve the economy of Cornwall and the
Isles of Scilly and to have these sorts of skills and knowledge
amongst the Programme's partners is invaluable.”
The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the world's
largest professional marketing body with 55,000 members in
130 countries. It aims to develop the marketing profession,
maintain professional standards and improve the skills of
marketing practitioners, enabling them to deliver exceptional
results for their organisations.
