Cornwall Brings a 'Sense of Adventure'
to the Schroder London boat Show
Cornwall, for the first time, will be exhibiting at the 2005
Schroder London Boat Show thanks to the combined efforts of
the Cornwall Marine Network and Cornwall Enterprise and will
demonstrate four key aspects of life in Cornwall; working,
playing, visiting and living. The stand brings together a
combination of Cornwall's maritime experiences, including
its businesses, lifestyle and gastronomy. The central feature
is four beach huts, each uniquely influenced by the diversity
of Cornwall's coastal life.
The huts have been inspired by some of the 'heroes' of Cornish
culture and each promote an aspect of life in Cornwall. 'The
Home Office', created by the successful business woman Olga
Polizzi of Hotel Tresanton, reflects Cornwall as the perfect
business location. Mrs Polizzi says:
"Having been introduced to Cornwall 15 years ago I immediately
fell in love. After 2 days in Cornwall I never want to leave.
And now that so many exciting things are happening in Cornwall
I can think of no better place to have an office than on a
Cornish beach with its extraordinary light and the sea that
can be like the Caribbean one day and the next the wild Atlantic."
'The Surf Shack' has been inspired by Andreya Wharry, our
heroine of the waves, who recently broke into the record books
after kite surfing from the Scilly Isles to Watergate Bay,
near Newquay. The 'Cornish Garden Hut', where nature meets
nurture, shows a habitat unique to Cornwall where, warmed
by the Gulf-stream, sub-tropical flora and fauna can flourish.
Finally 'Living by the Sea' is designed by Coast Magazine
and features an aspirational coastal lifestyle, where visitors
also have the chance to win the hut and all its contents.
If your business is a member of the Cornwall Marine Network
and you would like to find out more about representation on
the stand we would be delighted to talk with you. This is
a fantastic opportunity for Cornish business and one that
takes the Cornwall brand out of the region in a way that might
be repeated at other national and even international events
in the future.
Visit the Cornwall stand at Schroders London Boat Show in
Excel's North Hall from Thursday 6th to Sunday 16th January
2005 and find out more about what Cornwall has to offer; from
winter storm watching weekends to the latest in marine design
technology. Throughout the show you will also have the opportunity
to taste samples of some of Cornwall's finest mouth-watering
dishes, prepared by some of the region's top food and wine
producers.
