Business start-up advice goes on
the road
A second series of roadshows offering free
and impartial professional advice to people thinking of starting
a business will be travelling across Cornwall in February
and March.
A joint venture between Business Link Devon
and Cornwall and local Enterprise Agencies, the events will
take place from February 21 in a mobile exhibition trailer
in town centres, supermarket car parks and a variety of other
places.
"In conjunction with the Enterprise
Agency network we have since April already helped more than
4,000 people looking at starting a business,” explained
Business Link's events support manager Mike Cooper.
"As a result of the success of our first
series of roadshows last year, we now plan to repeat this
successful combination of information, advice and face-to-face
guidance and take it out to 17 locations across Cornwall and
Devon the two counties including ten new ones.”
These are Tiverton, Holsworthy, South Molton,
Saltash, Launceston, Wadebridge, Penryn, Penzance, Bude and
Liskeard.
The aim of the venture is to encourage and help
those thinking of starting a business or who are in the early
years of running their own enterprise and are uncertain where
to go for expert assistance and support. Special emphasis
will be placed on dealing with the specific problems faced
by budding young entrepreneurs, women and community projects.
Experienced Business Link and Enterprise Agency
advisers will attend the events which are all free and for
which no appointment is necessary.
