Farm Energy Exhibition
The Cornwall Farming and Wildlife Advisory
Group will be holding an information day looking at all forms
of energy on the farm, from growing energy crops to saving
energy use and road miles. The day is part of the Farm Environment
Link Project and will be held at the Members Pavilion, Royal
Cornwall Showground on Friday, 25th February 2005 from 10.00
until 4.00pm
Guest speakers will include:
Sir Ben Gill CBE
Andrew Kneeshaw of Farm Energy Services (highlighting
where energy savings, and therefore costs, can be made)
Tim German of the Cornwall Sustainable Energy Partnership
William Garnier from the Cornwall Agricultural Council
Malcolm Shepherd of Wessex Grain
Roy Heath of NHS Food Partnership on Food Miles
The Environment Agency will be launching the
Cornwall Miscanthus Growing Areas Map, which highlights those
areas in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly which are deemed
to be suitable for the cropping of miscanthus following research
by the EA.
There will be trade stands and information on
planning and investments. Entrance is free and there will
be complimentary pasty lunch.
The FWAG Farm environment link project has received
Objective One investment through European Agricultural Guidance
and Guarantee Fund.
