DPN to Host Business Event for IT
Issues
Businesses of all sizes are being invited to attend a growth
and development evening being held at the Acorn in Penzance
next week. Hosted by Digital Peninsula Network, who have Objective
One and South West Regional Development Agency investment,
the free event will be a chance for firms to receive advice
from a range of specialists.
The event, to be held on Wednesday 8th June from 6.30pm,
will feature a number of speakers as well as representatives
of several business support agencies and DPN members.
Lynda Davis, Director of DPN in Bread Street, set up in 1999
to support technical and commercial development of people
working with IT in Cornwall, expects the evening to be extremely
useful. "DPN has always had an ethos of shared support,
collaboration and partnerships between businesses," she
said. "Traditionally we have assisted those who are in
the IT and creative sectors or for whom IT is integral to
their business. This event will be an opportunity for them
to make contact with the wider business community." Jennifer
Atherton, centre manager added: "The evening should
prove a successful networking experience for businesses who
are yet to realise their IT potential."
The evening starts with seminars on business growth, public
sector procurement, staff and skills development, employing
staff and obtaining funding. There will be networking opportunities
from 8.30pm. Also attending the event will be 16 of DPN's
members along with support agencies including Creative Skills,
Cornwall Enterprise, actnow and Business Link.
