New Caradon Enterprise annexe opens
for business
The £729,195 Caradon Enterprise annexe at Liskeard
Business Park opens for business with an official launch on
Friday 24 January.
The latest phase of development at the business park provides
another 11 industrial units and nine offices. It is expected
to create 31 permanent jobs and safeguard four more for small
and start up enterprises in South East Cornwall.
Funding for Liskeard Business Parks third phase has
been provided by an Objective One European Regional Development
Fund (ERDF) grant of £291,678 plus £202,346 from
the Cornwall Developing in Partnership SRB2 Programme and
£235,171 from Caradon District Council.
Offices and workshops have already been snapped up by local
entrepreneurs, including:

Councillor Kath Pascoe, Caradons Cabinet member with
the supporting the rural community and economy portfolio,
said: Caradon actively promotes and encourages businesses
to set up in South East Cornwall. In just 12 years we have
built 126 workshops and offices to provide premises that new
and expanding businesses can afford.
We also offer a complete and free business advice service
for enterprises of all sizes and have more than 100 different
fact sheets on topics such as business plans, credit management
and starting up your own business.
The new industrial units range from 37sqm to 88sqm, and the
offices sizes are between 10.3sqm and 15.6sqm. Liskeard Business
Park has another 16 workshop units and 11 offices in its Caradon
Enterprise Centre from two previous phases of development.
There are also six plots of serviced land at the business
park. The new units and offices are let on an easy in
easy out basis and all have ISDN telephone lines.
In total, almost £2.1 million has now been invested
in Liskeard Business Park to help local businesses set up
or expand. Around £837,500 has been funded by European
Union grants, £287,000 has come from national government
and £974,000 has been provided by Caradon District Council.
Caradon District Council currently provides 126 workshops
and offices in South East Cornwall, and another 8 will be
completed at Millbrook by the end of the month.
