Cornwall's 'One-Stop Fishing Shop' goes
online
The Cornwall Fisheries Resource Centre, Cornwall's
'one-stop-shop' for advice, training and information
for fishermen, fish merchants, fish processors and fishing
related businesses today launches its new website at www.cfrc.org.uk
to enable users to access information they need 24-hours
a day and on weekends.
"We appreciate that everybody involved in the fish
industry leads very busy lives and often don't get time
in their working day to contact us when we are open so the
new website really means we can be 'open all hours'
for information on events, training dates, reports, latest
news and grants" said project director, Nathan
de Rozarieux.
The site has been designed by local web-designer Gabriella
Nonino of Sandswimmer.net to be easily updated so content
can be kept current and to also act as an on-line notice board
with sections for crew looking for berths, buying/selling
boats, galley table 'chat room' and picture gallery.
The Resource Centre is also part of the 'Knowledge
Network' for the new Business Link Fish REG project
which can provide investment for training or group activities
and research information to groups involved in the fish industry
across the South West.
The Centre also has regular Objective One (FIFG) investment
advice 'surgeries' at 11am every Wednesday when
SW Pesca project officer, Robin Davies is on hand to help
applicants and potential applicants with their ideas.
