Quota company to 'Quiz Cornwall's Fishermen'
As part of its mission to buy and retain fish quota in Cornwall,
the Duchy Fish Quota Company is organising a Cornwall wide
'Test the Fisherman' quiz to test the fishing
knowledge of local fishermen and see who is the overall 'Cornish
fishing mastermind'.
Company director and question master, David Muirhead who
came up with the idea said: "Many fishermen pride
themselves on their knowledge of the industry and so this
is really a fun way of testing that knowledge while at the
same time raising funds and awareness of the company."
Individuals or teams can enter, paying £1 each or £5
per team respectively.
The quiz will take place simultaneously at 8 o'clock
on Friday 3rd March, with port representatives reading out
the questions in Looe, Mevagissey, Cadgwith, Newlyn, Mousehole,
Penberth (Logan Rock), St Ives and Newquay. Each port individual
or team winner will receive a prize as well as going forward
to the grand prize which will be awarded to the highest scorer
from around Cornwall.
