Unique course launched for teachers

Cornwall College's business school is launching a new specialist qualification for teachers wanting to gain a masters degree in management. The MA Management (Education) is the only one of its kind in Cornwall and offers senior teaching staff the opportunity to gain insight into management with attention given to the needs and topics specific to the education sector.

The course is being run by programme manager Dave Atfield. Dave has delivered the MA in Management for over five years at the business school, working with many of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly's managers and leaders. "We're delighted to be able to offer this new specialist course. As an accredited centre for the Chartered Management Institute and a partner institute with Coventry University we are well equipped to shape and support managers of the future. Now with this new pathway we can share our education expertise as well."

The course starts in October and runs for ten months with a strong vocational emphasis. "The MA Management programme has run successfully for the last five years with a 100% success rate for those who complete the course," said John Latham, CEO and Principal of the Cornwall College Group. "We are very pleased to build on that success and develop a dedicated qualification for our peers within the education community."
