Travis, Snyder, Jones, Milburn & Wiese present Film-making/Screenwriting
courses in Cornwall
Media Centre Cornwall and Cornwall Film are to stage 'Eat,
Shoot & Leave 2', an eight-day programme of film
master classes from Friday October 6th through Friday October
13th to be held in Penzance, Cornwall.
MCC was commissioned by Cornwall Film to design ESL 2 as
a programme to mentor the film-makers chosen to receive their
'Target Talent' funding awards; Cornwall Film
has also supported MCC in making available a limited amount
of bursaries for media professionals living in Cornwall who
would like to attend the courses. The workshops are also open
to anyone who is interested in honing their film making skills.
An impressive line-up of leading American and British talent
will conduct the courses - industry gurus whose courses are
rated as "must attend" by professionals around the
globe. From Hollywood, Mark Travis (www.travis-johntz.com),
author of 'Directing Feature Films' (Los Angeles
Times No. 1 bestseller) will be presenting 'Directing
and Acting for the Camera', a hands-on course for actors
and directors. Also from Hollywood, Blake Snyder (www.blakesnyder.com)
has sold more than 30 movie scripts, including two for over
$1 million (one to Spielberg) and runs the enigmatically entitled
'Save The Cat! 40 Beats to a Successful Script',
an intensive course on screenwriting based on his best-selling
book of the same name. Chris Jones, (www.livingspirit.com)
author of 'The Guerrilla Filmmakers' Handbook'
(a best-seller in the UK) will present 'Guerrilla Filmmaking
and Marketing: From the UK to the World'. Beatrix Milburn
will present 'Funding, Producing and Marketing Documentary
Films' and Michael Wiese, Penzance-based international
filmmaker/publisher will present 'Doing More With Less:
Stretching Your Budget and Your Schedule' and 'The
Pitch: Getting Heard, Read and Bought', plus a one day
question and answer workshop with a production panel full
of local professional talent.
International filmmakers and writers, great speakers, and
the positive vibe of Cornwall - you really don't want to miss
this one!
