Top marks for University of Plymouth Colleges
University of Plymouth Colleges (UPC), of which Cornwall
College is a part, is delighted to announce that it has received
a "Full confidence judgement" by the Quality Assurance
Agency – the highest audit honour an academic institution
can get.
Cornwall College, along with other further education colleges,
works in partnership with the University to bring higher education
to Cornwall. The funding from Objective One's Combined
Universities in Cornwall initiative has brought new facilities,
courses and buildings to the College, increasing the numbers
of university students enrolled and giving local students
a quality university education.
The partnership's good news follows a recent audit
from the agency, which is responsible for safeguarding and
improving the academic standard and quality of higher education.
Cornwall College's Senior Vice Principal for Planning
and Education, Ken Woodcock, warmly welcomes the high calibre
endorsement: "This is a fantastic result for Cornwall
College. We are pleased to be working with the University
of Plymouth on such a successful venture."
Dean of University of Plymouth Colleges, Ian Tunbridge is
delighted with the audit report: "This is a wonderful
endorsement for UPC and I would like to thank everyone involved
– staff and students, for their commitment which has
made UPC such a success. The report findings will help UPC
to further its excellence in teaching and learning and continue
to provide students in the South West with a first class education
experience."
